Elsa's new favorite game is hide and seek. She'll cover her head with a blanket, run into another room, or simply close her eyes and say,"Elta? Elta?" Meaning of course,"Where is Elsa?" She has also developed a cackling laugh that sounds sort of like a cough. You can hear it in the video, along with her saying,"Hello, Mommy." Lately everything is "Mommy", which is just so much cuter than "Mama".
Last weekend was nice so we spent some time outside. Here she happily stares at a windchime. Dad seems pretty intrigued by it, too.
Update:
How could I forget? We got Elsa's pictures taken on Friday. She was in a good mood, but it was tough to get her to smile. We got some cute Easter ones, but i'll post those later. Here are a couple samples of the others.

18 months old
Wow, a year and a half already. We don't see the doc until she's 22 months, so instead we measured her up against the door frame and it looks like she's 32-and-a-half inches tall. Not sure about her weight, but she feels like she's 25 lbs at least. She's definitely getting harder to carry, especially considering i'm already carrying another little one around.
She loves to wear daddy's hat.
This morning we made celebratory cinnamon rolls, and I thought Elsa would freak out with glee. I got my video camera out, and nothing happened. She ate it with as much interest as a dry piece of toast. Usually, if she's really hungry or the food looks good to her, she'll say,"Oh WOW-weee! Oh NUM-eeee. NUM-EEEEE!" It's hilarious. She did that at a restaurant last weekend and had everyone in the surrounding booths looking at us. I don't think the waitress had ever seen anyone so excited to get their food at the Village Inn. Anyway, i'm still trying to get it on video. We'll see.
Her beloved Elmo slippers. It's a good thing she doesn't know she's about to grow out of them.

Night night, Teddy Graham
Elsa has developed a newfound love for stuffed animals, especially her elephant. She pushes his face into the ground and says,"Eat". Then she knocks him over and says,"Night night". She does this with her milk and food, too.
In this video, she thanks me for the Teddy Graham, then says "night night" to it because it's laying down.

The gender of baby #2, Elsa "spells" her name
Today we had our 20 week ultrasound. Of all the people who guessed, nobody thought it was a boy. Why not, I wonder? Well, you were all...correct! It's a girl! Elsa will have a little sister playmate. We think it's pretty cool. Elsa does too, but she doesn't know it yet. Everything looked good and we got some pics. Here's a profile:
Lately, whenever Elsa sees a word she tries to spell it out. If it's a 4 letter word, she assumes it's her name. KQRS billboard? Spells Elsa. SALE sign in the window? Spells Elsa (it actually does, if you flip the letters around). Today our 4-numbered address on the garage spelled Elsa. She can say all 4 letters of her name separately, but if she tries to spell it she'll only say 2 of them, and one is wrong. In this video she's busy chewing on something, but takes a break to humor me. Observe her typical answer:
You heard it here first: "E-O" spells Elsa. It's so cute, it almost makes me not want her to learn how to get it right.
Last week she went through a talking growth spurt. An explosion, if you will. A few of our new favorites: Avocado (Aggo-aggo), Uff Da, Mama read book.

Freezing family fun, Update
Last weekend we went out in the snow. Elsa smiles in the face of cold and says happily,"Brr!". She has even more fun now that she can walk. Here we are in the backyard.
Down the hill with dad.
Whenever we put on her jacket, she knows we're going somewhere. She stomps her feet and says,"Et go. Et go, momma!"
Today we got Elsa a potty chair. We're not training her yet or anything, just getting her used to seeing the chair there. She seems intrigued by it. She points to the big toilet and says, "momma pee". Then points to the little chair and says,"Elsa pee. Peeewwww!"
Her favorite thing is to watch us vacuum. She says,"Sszzhhhh (vacuum sound). More Sszzhhh!" She'll even start to cry sometimes if we don't keep vacuuming. She's quite the task master.
About 2 weeks after she started walking, she gave up crawling completely. Now she runs around like a maniac.
Lately Elsa's really into colors and letters. She thinks it's funny to say that everything's Red. Letters she knows: E, B, O, M, and F. More on letters for the next post... (hopefully, if I can get video).
