4 months old

Hey all - sorry for the lack of updated posts. You know how it is this time of year. I know you want to get straight to Elsa news, so let's take a look back at some pre-Four month photos, shall we?

This is a photo of her in her new Exersaucer, at about 3 1/2 months. The box said "4 months and up", but I figured since she's advanced she could handle it early. Well... as you can see she's struggling to sit upright. I attribute this mostly to a malfunction with the fabric seat, and not with her abilities. What kind of support do you get with a flimsy fabric seat? Not much, I tell you.

Here she is rockin' a new onesie that dad got on a recent trip to Kansas. I photoshopped out the naughty word. Good thing she can't read yet.

Lately, all Elsa wants to do is chomp on whatever is in sight. She loves her new teether ring. This is what she looks like most of the time.

Last but not least, here is our talented little infant doing her best Renee Zellweger impersonation:

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Top 10

Last March I went to Texas with the band. This weekend they're in Kansas and i'm here. Yep, life has changed. Or... has it?
Top 10 reasons why spending time with a band is a lot like staying home with a baby:

10. Very little sleep
9. Lots of eating
8. Noxious odors
7. Cleaning up messes that aren't yours
6. Calming the irritable
5. Deciphering babble
4. Having fun till you pass out
3. Good tunes
2. Good company
1. Good times overall

And lastly, what blog entry would be complete without some new pictures of Elsa? Here she is on the verge of discovering her feet.

Here, dad changes a diaper and gets a smile.

Bravo

I finally got to see the band play for the first time since July. I had missed seeing them and thought they did great. Beforehand, we went out with some friends to The King and I. Best Thai and Mojitos ever. I meant to bring my camera to capture the good times, but you'll just have to take my word for it. It was great seeing everyone and hanging out in the city again.

Elsa was exceptionally cute this weekend. Here she is in her new hat, christmas outfit, and playing in her gym. Her tongue is sticking out in every photo. It goes hand in hand with all the drooling she's been doing lately.

Airplane!

This morning we played a little game of airplane. Elsa seemed to like it. Luckily, drool isn't a liquid that's prohibited on my airline. In fact, I think it's pretty cute.

A couple weeks ago, we read in a book that our baby should be able to hold her head at a 45 degree angle. It was alarming. 45? She could barely lift up at all. I admit, we've been pretty bad at making her do tummy time. It was too hard watching her cry and struggle and not be able to breathe, with her face smashed into the floor. But, not wanting her to lag behind, I started her on tummy time just last week. And look at her now! That's a 90 degree angle, folks. You can see by her furrowed brow that it's taking her full concentration, but she's doing it. And she just started LAST WEEK! I obviously can't take any credit for this milestone. She's simply advanced, a.k.a. genius.

Happy...

birthday to the hubby! Over the weekend, we went to my parents house for his birthday dinner. Mom made a fabulous feast: shrimp scampi over linguine, salad, stuffed mushrooms, and banana splits. Yes, I took a picture of my dessert. Sadly, it's not the first time.

I heard tons of people showed up to the Turf on Friday. I miss everyone and hope to see you at the next show!

greatest job ever

Today we went for a walk down the Wyoming bike trail. It was probably the last nice day of the year to do so. Elsa slept the entire time. She did a lot of gurgling and drooling today, which i'm sure wore her out. I can't wait until next year when we can pull her around behind our bikes.
Tonight the hubby is playing with his band at the Turf Club. I'm home with the baby. We're partying. Of course I miss seeing all of my friends at the show, but I know there will be plenty of other opportunities.

Happy Thanksgiving

This year we had another lovely Thanksgiving in St. Cloud. The hubby's family is rather large, so there's never a dull moment. Plenty of good people to talk to. Elsa got to see her many great aunts and uncles and cousins. Here she is with her third cousin Ani, who was sweet enough to read Elsa a book. Those two kids really liked eachother.

operators are standing by

Today my sis came over at 9 a.m. She brought breakfast from Big Apple Bagels, and I made the coffee. That's teamwork. Then I went to work on a brochure for her chiropractic clinic. She's hoping to stir up some business so mom and dad can retire. She's a very talented young lady. You should all go visit her in her fancy office in Bloomington, MN. She'll make you feel like a million bucks.

3 months old

Elsa's 3 month birthday is tomorrow. In honor of the occasion, I decided to start a blog so family and friends can track her progress. I'll also be writing some things about the family, and life in general. I'm home all day, so why not?
