Lila is 3 weeks old tomorrow...

Momma is 31-years-old today! Here's the awesome german chocolate cake my mom made for me (from scratch!) last weekend. I'll have to literally "get cookin'" if I want to be a good momma like that some day.

I'll have to do the rest of this quick - no real time for writing these days. Here are some photos from our family pool party last weekend:

Soon-to-be Uncle Shane and Elsa play by the pool.

Sister Jenny, cousin Kelly, and Lila.

Dad and Elsa. Sweet face!

Lila looking like she most often does. She's a frowner!

Shane, Tim, Kelly and Neil drink from the shot-ski. Usually reserved for Christmas, it finally found its obvious place in the sun.

Lila sleeping. We realized she has reflux pretty bad, so now she sleeps elevated in her swing at night. It seems to help a little.

The shot-ski? There has to be some sort of story behind this.

DUDE!!!!
Happy B-day!!!!!!!!

i had to look up what reflex was:

A ring of muscle at the bottom of the esophagus opens and closes to allow food to enter the stomach. This ring of muscle is called the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). The LES normally opens to release gas after meals. With infants, when the LES opens, stomach contents often reflux into the esophagus and out the mouth, resulting in regurgitation, or spitting up, and vomiting.

do you know what that means?!!??!!
unlike Momma, Lila will be able to BELCH!!!! :) HeY-OOOOH!!

I guess it's kind of like saying "brewski", but taken more literally. My dad likes to invent things. In this case, a shot ski. 4 shots on one water ski that can be done by 4 people at once. Party!

Shot ski...Eric's moms little lap dog on that 70's show. Wasn't it?

Unfortunately ol' johnny-buffet is not the inventor of the shotski. But we can pretend he did. :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shotski

The traditional alpine shotski does not have jigger or "schnapp" glasses permanently affixed to it, as the American versions do, but instead simply place the glasses upon a ski, or within a small groove made for the glasses. This technique requires much more skill and coordination on behalf of the drinkers, but is considered by many to be the "true" or "correct" form of drinking from a shotski.

Wow! News to me. He never claimed to invent it, but i guess i thought he did. Oh well, he made this one and that's cool too. :)
